Big Wave Marketing was founded in January 2020 by Alex Geracimos, but the journey began the summer before.

 

While interning for a local catamaran company, Alex took the reins of their social media and quickly saw the impact— growing their following, boosting engagement, and building a strong online presence. That experience sparked a realization: she could bring the same results to businesses across Ocean City, Maryland.

 

With that inspiration, Big Wave Marketing was born. Alex hit the ground running, selling her services and signing 15 clients in her very first summer. As demand grew, so did the business. In year two, she hired her first employee and expanded offerings beyond social media management to include events, website design, and promotional campaigns. The client roster quickly doubled, and Big Wave Marketing became a trusted agency for businesses looking to make a splash online.

 

From the start, Alex prioritized steady, intentional growth. Rather than scaling too quickly, Big Wave Marketing focused on quality—ensuring every client received top-tier service and a truly hands-on social media experience. The team works closely with each business, visiting locations one to two times per week to create and execute content, allowing owners to focus on running their operations while Big Wave handles their digital presence.

 

Now heading into year six, Big Wave Marketing is thriving. The team proudly includes social media managers, content creators, a drone specialist, and a website manager—all working together to help local businesses grow, connect, and stand out.
